Great game if you have loads of time and want a good story. The water colour style portrays the gamebook style well, with a good voice over reminding me of early 40-60 sci-fi narration. The decisions on offer do not have always have obvious outcomes were the theme is exploring an alien ship it is very fitting that you at times have some pure guess work based on loose clues. The big BUT: the action parts of the game if it wasn't for the amount of time and button clicks it takes to just move around would be a non talking point letting the gamebook gameplay shine, but it is so slow and messes so badly with the pacing of the game if you can only pick a few games to fill a small amount of time you get them give this game a wide birth. Plus the storyline is not really simple enough to fit into a pick up and put down style, which for me is a plus but again for people with busier schedule would be a negative. ANNOUNCEMENT: Mini Campaign: The Last Stand : ANNOUNCEMENT. Assets for part 2 in the making : The game contains a lot of images and this is part of how they are done. Daniel ,who writes the story, comes with information about situations in the game that could be told with an illustration. After some "pen and paper" ideation I get going in Photoshop, some times (as in this case) with some simple 3D as a starting point. Next comes the animation, but you will have to wait for Ep 2 to be released to see that one.. A little about the game : THE GAME The game Second Coming and the short story Second Coming: Serpent Zero will let you discover and explore our unique origins (of life) and a universe much larger, older and grander than ourselves. At the end of the road, there will be unexpected answers to age old questions. The story takes as its standpoint that consciousness precedes the universe that we see. It is a very Biocentric worldview as outlined by Robert Lanza. Biocentrism argues that the primacy of consciousness features in the work of Descartes, Kant, Leibniz, Berkeley, Schopenhauer, and Bergson. It sees this as supporting the central claim that what we call space and time are forms of animal sense perception, rather than external physical objects. The story will explore what this would really mean for life as we know it, and also introduce aliens of different factions as the Nephilims of ancient writings. The various Alien Factions all have their unique storyline, that is intertwined to the creation of men. THE GAME MECHANICS I have always loved XCOM: s style of strategic gameplay (both newer and older versions). The Game Second Coming will use a gameplay that will build on this great foundation, but focus also on story through cinematics, cartoons and even reading and intertwine this with the strategic gameplay. Using the elements, we all love too create a great gaming experience. The experience will intermix XCOM with rpg-, adventure and gamebook games.. Demo Update and Coming Early Access : We have updated the demo with bug fixes, inventory functionality and updated versions of the music tracks. We are going to release an Early Access version soon, where we will release the game in chunks until the full game is out. This is so that it can be tested by the public in an early stage..
