The Samurai Edge is the iconic handgun of the Resident Evil franchise, so it was natural that it found its way into Revelations as well.

This handgun really shines in campaign. It is a balanced weapon, which sacrificed magazine size for an upgrade slot, but otherwise surpasses the standard handgun in every aspect: making it an ideal sidearm, especially for a newcomer.

This great balance kills it in Raid though. There is just no way for the Samurai Edge to compete on higher levels with the power of the Government or the speed of the G18, since its only advantage is the zero recoil, like with all other DLC guns.

The Raid-exclusive weapon part is just a combination of the cheapest damage and critical hit enhancers; it is a decent filler part before you find more of the useful ones, but expect to sell it after a few stages.. It's an eh gun and an even more eh attachment.

6\/10. Capcom is a POS company which abandons its broken games after launch.. In addition to its extremely high critical chance compared to other handguns (supposedly 50%), one thing to note about this gun (and other DLC weapons) is that it's always available in the Raid shop -- no RNG reloading necessary. However, they cost as much as magnums.

These weapons are fun to play around with, although they kind of require high-end Abyss level mods and upgrades to really shine. If these are on sale, it's not a bad way to spend the pocket change you make from selling Steam trading cards.. Jill's pistol which is a hand cannon of sorts similar to the Government. However it has a higher rate of fire, and sadly may not be available without DLC. So it's pay to win in some sense. The STARS attachment is a nice double bonus. These digital items should BE IN THE GAME already though. Might as well use a save game editor or mod to make your own gear. Those don't cost anything.

I only have this DLC because Steam winter sale price was less than $10 for true whole game. Games depreciate faster than automobiles. If you buy new you're only screwing yourself.. The only DLC I bought, and probably the most useful of the weapon DLCs since the majority of the time in this game is Jill Time. That being said, it's absolutely nonessential and isn't really worth the money, only adding a mild adjustment \/ upgrade to the main pistol and not adding anything particularly new or novel to your arsenal. You can skip this safely.. A quick explanation for those who haven't played the game yet, because this is a great gun to get even for the first playthrough:

In campaign, you're going to have two pistols for the majority of the game (not counting DLC). The starter pistol (high capacity, high damage, 3 customization slots), and an unlock pistol (lower damage, lower capacity, 5 customization slots.) Customization slots can be used to buff certain parts of your gun, like damage, magazine size, critical hit chance, etc. The Samurai Edge pistol, which you'll find in weapon lockers throughout the campaign if you own this DLC, has medium damage, medium capacity, and 4 customization slots, which makes it a great gun for almost any build. It's not overpowered or anything, it just strikes a nice balance between everything and I found myself preferring it almost the entire game.

In raid, it comes with an additional customization part (usable on any gun!) that increases both critical hit chance and damage, which is amazing. The gun itself is a more debatable choice, since weapons have completely different stats in raid mode, and now it has middling damage, very low capacity (only four shots!) and a huge critical hit chance, making it feel like a luck-based magnum with more frequent ammo pickups. It's odd but it can still fit into certain builds due to the generous 4 customization slots, and I would highly recommend getting this DLC whether you play Raid or Campaign.. I love you very much, Jill !!!. It's an eh gun and an even more eh attachment.
