About This Game

Faraway Islands is a top-down 2D story driven survival game, set on procedurally generated islands you can travel between and explore. Game contains classic survival mechanics like crafting based on combining, gathering resources and food, farming, hunting animals, increasing character skills, building shelter and defending from dangerous enemies.


You play as a survivor of passenger ship that sank in wild storm. As you try to find a way home from these islands you encounter new friends, that will help you, and enemies giving you a hard time.


All islands are procedurally generated, that means everything from its shape to number of crabs and mushrooms is randomly chosen and then created by predefined rules. Not all resources are the same on every island, so you must explore and find what you need.


Creating items is done by combining or processing items in your inventory. These combinations are not shown to player, so must to guess or remember them. Some are recommended to you by story characters or written in quests.


To ensure your safety from predators and enemies you can build your own shelter. Game has several basic buildings to choose and construct from and more are unlocked by increasing your skills.


Wild animals are dangerous, and you should be cautious when moving around them. So beware that pack of tigers can kill you quite quickly. There are also human enemies that will attack every few days. You can prepare for these situations by crafting weapons and armour. 7ad7b8b382

Its ok need some work not worth $4 maybe $2 but thats the highis I wood go should be free thogh I mite get a refund idk I dont recommend it right now but maybe if they fix it up a bit and add more to it it mite be a little good game you can kill sometime with. Read the effort put into the early access game description, take all those feelings about how much this developer does not give a sh*t and then the game is that much sh*t, nothing added to the basic survival and craft formula with even less reason given to explore and without 3d graphics. Shame could of been something that contended but under someone who has no faith in their own game unless others do what does anyone expect. RIP Greenlight, hopefully games with half a thought can get some light again.

Good 2D survival\/crafting game.Controls well and has good mechanics.Fun to play.Main thing missing is content.Maybe some kind of back story as well as current story and things that hamper surviving would make it better. Things like animals or some mobs that you have to fight\/avoid or just watch out for would add a lot. This could lead to more reason to have variety of weapons and a leveling up of weapons.This really is a fun game in early access which I totallly forgot to mention....untill now.Price is not very much at all now......with proper good additions current price will be a steal. Developers seem nice and are wanting feeedback to help advance their game.....which is usely a good sign for a early access game in my experience. So overall I am not a professional game reviewer but I do know if I like playing a game or not and a few things I personaly would like to see in a game.......so I like playing Faraway Islands and recommend it to all types of gamers.........I see it getting better with a little love.. At least, to me this gas was \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665t.
No tutorial, complicate UI, Uncomfortable combining system and \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665ing FRAME DROP while raining.
You'd better to buy another game until the maker fix this \u2665\u2...

Hello,

I know game should have been released yesterday, but it is not done, and I don't know what to say other than that I am incompetent.

I released current state of the game on public branch for those who already own the game and they can try it.

I didn't fully released it because as I tried go trough the story and there is always something new that is broken or broke because I fixed something else.

I don't want to give up as I think I can fix all of this bugs, but I cannot tell how long it could take.

And lastly I think I'm gonna turn the early access back on, because the game is almost finished (except the audio and bugs) and I promised to release it twice already.

Again, I'm sorry. I hope some of you still want to play my game at this point.
