Game keeps freezing in cutscenes and running into pedestrians
this happens way to often to ignore, I did not had any issues with Yakuza 0. This game builds off of Yakuza 0, it runs on the same engine and uses the same core mechanics\/gameplay loop. You might even just call it Yakuza 0 but with a different story, which it kinda is.

The story is pretty engaging and it's got the Yakuza charm where it's just really campy and stupid but funny, but the gameplay falls apart here. The game is insanely repetitive and grindy; Yakuza 0 suffered from this too, but it managed to break up the tedium by switching you between Kiryu and Majima.

Not worth. This is the second Yakuza game I've played so far (the first being Yakuza 0) and these games are \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665ing awesome. Lots of easter egg references to themselves and pop culture references befitting the time frame whichever game you're playing is set in. Kiryu is one noble SOB, and it will break your heart watching the various tragedies he has to overcome. This game also does a really nice job teaching you to use Dragon of Dojima fight style, which is the strongest and IMO hardest to use of all the fighting styles. (Mad Dog of Shimano is peak, fight me).

My only complaint is you dont get to play as Majima (starting with 0 spoiled me I guess) but his interactions with Kiryu make up for it. Also no miss able achievements was a nice change.. Kiryu: Oh no Haruka got kidnapped i must find her!

It may be a modernized remake of a classic but it still holds a candle to original creations. This game for me is one that not only captures the essence of good storytelling but in a way I don't see very often. The combat being a center focal point and narrative push makes be engaged and focused on the story aspect. The story is deep and intense. It combines elements of friendship, love, sacrifice, betrayal, greed and revenge to tell a very heartfelt story. I felt a sense of dread many times throughout the story and rightly so quite often.

Each character of the game have purpose and reason. The voice actors are ace and really show the expressive attitudes of each. The city in which the game is based is big enough to explore but too big where traveling becomes a bore.

The mini games are arguably its strongest (and, at times, quirkiest) feature. The mini games are a blast to play and there is a great variety, from bowling and billiards to more obscure things like pocket car racing with little kids and rock paper scissors in the form of bikini clad women dressed as bugs. No matter what you like, probably has a mini game that suits you.. I usually don't bother to recommend any game at all, but this game has a special meaning for me. I have played back in the time when I was 11 years younger. And it hits you. Even harder if you stablish a kind of parallelism because you didn't finish in that moment and you do it now, older and wiser, as Kiryu himself. For all the time that I genuinely smiled like a kid playing it, I truly recommend this masterpiece.
