Start off by creating yourself, then die.

In REALM you explore your afterlife. On your quest you'll find characters in different situations, with their problems and thoughts on life. You can invite them to your tavern, a safe-haven in the midst of all the chaos. You'll also meet Ulrich, a spiritual guide who'll take you through your experience as a lost soul.

You'll come across monstrous beings who are eager to put their teeth in you. There are several ways to rid yourself of them however, ranging from guns to melee weapons. Be ready to get your hands dirty and watch the blood drip slowly from the roof and walls.

This universe consists of both beauty and indescribable horrors, in REALM you'll experience both. Let's hope you have a good time, and who knows, maybe you'll learn something on the way..

Kill monsters with any weapon available, such as Pistol, SMG, Shotgun, Axe and so on..
Talk to NPCs to hear their stories, help them if you can.
Explore the strange realm of your mind.
You'll find yourself in situations that are atypical from ordinary FPS games as well.

This Strange Realm Of Mine is a feelgood game, mixed with psychological horror. From blood-filled scenes to poetry. From fast-paced action to dialogues of our views and questions about life, death and everything in-between.

This game is honestly so beautiful, I really enjoyed the story and all the unique levels!. It is a good game though short and very repeatitive i compleated it withen 3 days its fun though i would recomend takeing breaks after each ending.. This game is a really nice surprise. Did not have very high hopes, but got a discount and it looked nice.
But after playing a couple of hours I am very positive. I like the style and graphics. The story is actually quite interesting and the variation in levels is excellent. It is never too much of the same. I actually teaches some life lessons along the way.
Looking forward to finishing this!. This game is a wonderflu example of an art game. It's made by someone who sought answers to the questions of the universe, and his struggles dealling with the answers that followed. It was an intuitive buy that was extremely worthwhile for me. If you're the type of person who had realized the strangeness of reality, who sees the divide between themselves and their mind, I encourage you to buy this game.. A surreal experience filled with poetry about Life Death and Mental Health. Many of the included characters, Levels and their themes seemed very relatable and were extremely creative in their design. Really worth your money if you are interested in weird, experimental games about some unpleasent topics.
Wrote a little bit more in depth about this game here[amonsgamecorner.wordpress.com] (it's in german so beware). worth it for the gameplay .

like the pixel style too. I bought this (without paying much attention) expecting it to be a pixelated first-person shooter, which it kinda was, but also so much more; and it was a plesant surprise since it's one of the few games that i'll come across that feels very fresh. The story kept me interested the whole time and loved how its connections to the levels were woven together. Not only the variety of the environments in each level, but also the mechanics and kinds of tasks kept everything interesting throughout the game since you never knew what to expect next. All the NPCs were also entertaining and fun characters to interact with during the game.

The only negative about the game was some of the dialog, which overall I really enjoyed as the game discusses particular views on the universe, life/death, and the mind. There were times that seemed like the text was using lots of redundant synonyms and/or overly verbose explainations (which ultimately added confusion) in order to seem deeper in thought in a way blatant enough to break the experience for me. I felt it some of the dialog could have been more concise and presented by the NPC a little differently so it wouldn't feel like reading a book sometimes verus conversing with a person. This was all minor though clearly.

Definitely worth checking it out.. It's barely a game, more like a product of author's personal self-therapy that took form of making a Unity-based pseudo retro FPS. From that perspective it's somewhat interesting endeavor, and I hope it served its purpose to the author (who also now got actually paid for it :D ), but frankly, there's not that much in it for the end consumer.

The gameplay is simplistic and plainly boring, you go through linear levels, shoot at one type of enemies and 'talk' to anime-styled characters that dish out monologues ranging from somewhat infantile philosophical reflections to just straight out metaphysical babble. It feels quite personal and touches themes such as coping with mortality, our place in the universe, free will, and possibly living with autism. Sprinkled on top of that are frequent quotes from various songs and movies.

I cannot recommend it, because I have not enjoyed the whole experience. Perhaps it's because I found those ruminations mostly otiose. The remaining gameplay aspect feels dull like a first person spin on a homebrew RPG-Maker title that takes at most 3 hours to finish if you take it very slowly and actually bother to read all the text.

However, if you're a sucker for indie-game sensibilities, you probably could get some enjoyment out of it. The whole thing seems to scream INDIE at the top of its lungs, with extremely lowres textures, mini arcade games now and then, some zany characters and ostensible depth. But do get it on a massive sale, as paying the full asking price for it borders on insanity.
