Clunky and unpolished, doesn't meet todays standard for games, imo. game is NOT controller friendly and after trying to get it to work for over an hour , neither my steam controller , 360 controller, or ps4 controller would ever register with the game.. pretty chill game.. I played this for 9 hours total, and I'm at a point in the game where its a bit more difficult and grindy. So I figured it's time I write a review. Alright so, over all the game is enjoyable. I know nothing of the story as I skip most cutscenes. The Combats pretty basic, press button to attack, if you want use skill or magic, sheath weapon for magic then sprint button and it will show you which button will do the spell. For skills, basically the same without sheathing. So basic, but enjoyable if your taking out HORDES of enemies just for xp, or yuld (The games currency). Now, Yuld you'll get pretty easily but I garentee if you want to keep your chosen party equipped, your gonna have a bit of a problem. Necklaces and Rings are at minimum 5000. I barely get that from drops when farming but selling things helps too. The multiplayer, Idk if its dead or not interestingly enough. I tried to go into Duel mode but I couldnt because it kept finding no rooms so I guess the multiplayer if with a friend is okay, otherwise I dont think there is any. You guys tell me on that one I guess. Character customization does exist after you beat the first area boss. Its pretty limited. I wanted to play as a character that could use one handed weapons and is custom with a different name than actual character names. Im stuck as a chick called "ForcedTrap". I wish the customization was a bit more open. I really dont want to play as an imp just to be a male, one handed sword user. If they decide to be nice, Id like to change my gender, and have more than 2 hairstyles. Please. Overall the games pretty interesting. The only annoying part is if you get a weapon, you have to identify it before you can use it, so its another trip to town. But only after the first few story missions. I'd give this game a 7/10 because it is fun, though limited in creativity for your character, and tedious when it comes to getting item drops. Edit: There is no news, and there was an update. Would be nice if I knew what the update was.. This game was a huge surprise to me compared to Hollow Fragment, although that should be expected because of different developers. It took me about a third of the time to beat Lost Song (LS) compared to Hollow Fragment (HF). This is neither good nor bad in it of itself. The best part of LS to me is the gameplay, specifically the combat. You don't have a burst gauge for regular attacks, and the variety of options for combat are much more simplified. You do have spells now, which add a layer of complexity, but I got used to it fairly quickly. LS also has the option of playing other people, although Kirito is necessary for plot progression. Important to me is the much more stable framerate in LS, which generally was at 55-60 fps (with Vsync). The short length of the game does lend itself to not overstay its welcome. I liked the flying options. What I don't like about LS is the much worse story. There isn't a central plot until 3/4ths of the game and the plot that does eventually come up, as well as the "villain" are weak (I liked HF's plot). The artstyle is not like the anime, which HF is based off of; while the 3D stuff is better in LS, the HF 2D is much better imo. I recommend LS purely based on combat/gameplay, as well as a (not very good) story in order to understand the plots of later games. Short, somewhat sweet, and to the point. Don't play this game if you don't like Sword Art Online or its gameverse. Edit: The boob physics are hilariously bad and overdone, for example Leafa and Sakuya.. i just love to explore SAO world.
