Shanghai, Wuhan women's soccer clubs punished by CFA for in-game fights

Wuhan and Shanghai were jointly leading the league both with a 6-0 record prior to Saturday's clash. In stoppage time of the intense match which Wuhan won by 3-0, Camila Martins De Aguiar of Shanghai was shown a direct red card for a flagrant tackle and then struck some Wuhan players, which then turned into a brawl.

According to CFA's decision, Shanghai were fined 200,000 yuan with Camila suspended for 10 games and fined 20,000 yuan. Her teammate Li Jiayue was suspended for four games and was fined 8,000 yuan. Xu Jian, an official of the team, was banned from the sideline for five games and was fined 25,000 yuan while Wang Qinqing, also a team official, was banned from the sideline for 15 months and was fined 150,000 yuan.

Wuhan were fined 200,000 yuan by CFA. Player Lyu Yueyun was suspended for four games and was fined 8,000 yuan. Xu Shan, official of the team, received a sideline ban for 10 months and was fined 100,000 yuan.

CFA stated that all violations of the "Chinese Football Association Disciplinary Guidelines" will be punished strictly. It is hoped that all clubs, officials, and players can jointly maintain the order of the game and the hard-won football development environment.
