Cultures clash and tempers flares as the two cops named Detective Inspector Lee a Hong Kong Detective and Detective James Carter FBI, a big-mouthed work-alone Los Angeles cop who are from different worlds discovers one thing in common: they can't stand each other. With time running out, they must join forces to catch the criminals and save the eleven-year-old Chinese girl of the Chinese consul named Soo Yung.
Jackie Chan is Inspector Lee, a Hong Kong Detective who helps confiscate three dollars worth of stolen Chinese artifacts from Crime Lord Juntao. Seeking revenge, Juntao kidnaps the daughter of the Chinese consul when he moves to America. Chan is sent as a diplomatic advisor and finds himself paired up with a Los Angeles cop (Chris Tucker) - a man who works alone, and wants to stay that way.
This is one of Jackie's latest films. Jackie And Chris Tucker are great together. This film has action but it's not something we haven't seen Jackie already do. But I did like a fight in a pool place. Also there was a cool explosion. And in the beginning you get to see the guy from "Who Am I" who was fighting Jackie on the roof top, he was wearing red. "Chris Tucker" made this film look really funny. But when it camed to action Jackie was the man to call for help. But this film didn't have a big fight scene at the end, which we usually see at the end of "Jackie Chan" films. But Jackie did proof that people will laugh from this movie. This film is great for comedy, but not as good when it comes to action. I also can't wait till "Rush Hour 2" will come out. I watched the preview and it looked even more funnier that "Rush Hour". I hope Jackie will make more and more funny film but with more action in the future. So go rent this film today and experience the comedy with a action twist.
I watched Rush Hour (1998) yesterday, and yes I certainly found this movie extremely entertaining. It had such great acting by both Chris Tucker and our beloved Jackie Chan! They shared such amazing chemistry and both their characters were lovable.

The plot remains very basic and this is one of the strengths of this movie. Its a lot like 'Die Hard (1988)' where the plot is simply rescue the kidnapped/hostage against overwhelming odds.

The action in this film was purely amazing and the dialogue was well written. I pretty much enjoyed every aspect of this film, in particular the comedy.

**SPOILERS**

I, in particular laughed hard at the scene where Lee is like 'Wassup,my ****" It was hilarious and the action sequence that followed was breathtaking. I also laughed hard at the scene where Lee is trying to stop any of the things being broken and then as soon as he walks away, it explodes!

***END OF SPOILERS*** Overall, highly recommend this movie to all comedy/Jackie Chan fans! The movie seems to proceed from somebody's notion that it would be hilarious to see a black guy and a Chinese guy working together.
