This game has its unique pair of Narrators to guide the players through the introduction of the plot and in most cut-scenes. The voice acting was also good, and I found it humorous how they'll pester each other from time to time. x3 Its music and art were also well done and finely detailed in terms of the environment as we progress in scenes. The characters in Runeous: Part One are anything but bland, albeit somewhat generic to that of a cast from many other VNs. It can be difficult to build distinct characters, let alone a memorable story, but for a free game I'd say this was well done. It's worth playing if you like light-hearted VNs.. Just finished Runeous: Part One. It's cetainly left me wanting more. I enjoyed it - the artwork is fairly unique and the music is perfect, plus it's free! Took me about 20 - 25 mins to get through. Looking forward to Part Two.. Runeous: Part One seems like a pretty decent VN style game, and I look forward to seeing the second part of this story sometime in the future.. I hated the bickering narrators who make the story hard to follow.. easy 100%, nice guide on steam for it :). Easy 100% / 20min. I found this VN to be rather enjoyable. It was nothing unique or groundbreaking but a fun way to kill a little bit of time. The soundtrack was nice, graphics were interesting (I liked the character designs), and some nice easy achievements. Plus it's free! :) Took me about a half hour to play through but want to go back through and try some different options at some point. Looking forward to the next installment.. From developer Novel Tea Games, and publisher Lost Fables, comes Runeous: Part One. Released in 2016, this is a casual indie simulation game with a few small achievements. Runeous is a two part story and within part one, we are introduced to the main plot line and the main characters of the story. Taking roughly 20 minutes of game play, Runeous: Part One follows the story of a small group of heroes in a world that has been ruined by the wars of history. Rune stones possess magical qualities in the world of Ceira, and they fuel the world; however, their secrets have long been lost. Humans research them to try and rediscover what they hold. However, Ceira is under a new threat, an evil empire beginning to rise, and Leif must work with a Jacawi - Eme, to thwart the rising. However, not all is as it should be when the fabric of nature itself begins to fall apart. When I first entered Runeous: Part One, I wasnt expecting much at all. Maybe a small, short graphic novel, and based on the art work, that was exactly what I was getting. I had no idea what this game was about before I first opened it, so finding out it was a fantasy game was rather a pleasant surprise. The first thing that caught me eye was the art work. I didnt think the art work was as good as it could have been,; the character designed has worked hard, and thats easy to see but in my own personal opinion, it just didnt seem right. The story line itself was really interesting and I found myself really pulled in. The ending was absolutely spectacular and I cannot wait for the second part of this. Im really disappointed I couldnt find it on the Steam Store already. There are some little things about this game, however, that were rather annoying. For instance, taking so long to go through each speech; as the narrators told us the story, there was a long lapse between each line of speech and that could have been sped up a little bit it was extremely annoying. Spamming space, clicking frantically, etc, would not speed it up. You cannot skip the spaces between dialogue which is something that made me frown quite a bit. The longer it takes to continue the story, the quicker and easier it is for someone to lose interest as someone with attention disorders, Im really lucky I managed to keep myself entertained with the story. At the end of the day, this is a solid 3 out of 5 stars, a few different things could be changed, but Runeous is a good game that holds its own. It does well, and the cliffhanger is absolutely wonderful. I had goosebumps on my skin and anxiety in my stomach, and other than a few technical things, there is literally nothing I can fault about this game. A definite recommendation from me.. Commits the worst sin a video game can commit: it's boring. I tried getting into the story, but it was so concerned with being 'witty' and breaking the fourth wall that I couldn't stomach it any more and simply enabled the skip text option. This isn't worth playing, except for the easy achievements.. Runeous: Part One seems like a pretty decent VN style game, and I look forward to seeing the second part of this story sometime in the future.
