Starts off a bit oddly by not really explaining how tycho, gabe, and yourself split ways to begin with, but quickly gets back into the swing of things with the same silliness and absurdity of the first. Doesn't differ much from the first episode in either structure or combat, but still quite fun. If you liked the first one grab this one too.. Best. Poker game. Ever.

The animations are nice, the game play is great. It is a lot less "cheaty" than all other poker games (like when you have a one in a million hand like 4 of a kind, and an opponent just happens to have a royal flush - neither hands are seen hardly ever in a game, but there they are together....hmmmmmm).

I also enjoy the achievement trophies, it has kept me playing long after beating the game......there are trophies for certain types of hands, ways you beat others or got beaten, betting styles, etc.

HIGHLY recommended.. The video game equivalent of highlights for kids.. An enhancement over everything that made Quake 3 Arena great. Most of my playtime with Q3TA has been via physical disc, so my Steam stats will decieve you.

PROS:
+ Same frenetic gameplay that made Q3A great.
+ New and improved maps, game modes, and character skins.
+ Fun in both single player (vs bots) or multiplayer (online).
+ Modest hardware requirements: netbook friendly.
+ Can be played on Mac or Linux via the ioquake3* source port.
+ Tons of user-created maps, mods, and character skins floating all over the web...for free.

CONS:
- Graphics are very 6th gen (PS2 era) -if you're a graphics snob.
- $20 (USD) is a bit steep for a 15 year old game.

Copy your baseq3 and missionpack folders to ioquake3, launch ioquake3, and have fun!. It's a fun Texas hold'em type poker game. With side flavor of town management, which is kinda neat.

Hardcore poker players should find something better. This game is more geared to novice players and people just looking for a time killer.

Good as a before bed type wind-down casual game.
