If you wrap a turd into the pages of Communist Manifesto, not only will it still smell but also become a bold statetment.. I've never written a review on Steam before, but this game is definitely worth it as it deserves a lot more attention than it currently gets.

There are no right words to describe it, you just need to play it and see for yourself. This game is so complex and thoughtfully created and it's unbelievable that it was done by one person only (as far as I'm concerned). The creator, Etherane, has an incedibly vivid imagination, she is very talented and seems to be concerned with problems of society (bullying, suicide, mental illnesses, low self-esteem, etc.) which are also a leitmotif in the game. The view of religion/mythology is also quite original and I sincerely enjoyed the legend of the in-game world. The soundthack is very fitting and the art style is definitely pleasant.

There is a lot more to say about this game, but I think each person may perceive it differently so I won't spoil your own experience. I strongly advise you to play it starting with the first episode which is free on the developer's website.

Please spread the word about this game and suggest anyone who can be interested that they play it.. This covers HC1 (which is the demo in here I think) and HC2

HC1 is nostalgic for older RPGmaker horror games in a wonderful way. It feels like a mix between Witch's House, ib, Yume Nikki, OFF, and maybe even a touch of Lisa the Painful, all while still retaining its own sense of self. I've always liked that style, so I very much enjoyed this. It is pretty gorey, full of body horror, and can be hard on the eyes sometimes, but that's just The Aesthetic. While it feels a little short and some things feel sudden or not fleshed out enough, that improves as the series goes on.

HC2 is my favorite of the series. It takes all the best elements of HC1 and improves on them. While it lacks some of the sense of wandering a surreal maze of the first game's TV world, everything else makes up for that. The game is heavy, dealing with subjects like suicide and self-harm and mental illness, but in a way that feels personal and not exploitative. I don't really have enough words to explain this game. It's complicated, and not for everyone, but if it's for you, I think you'll love it.. Loved the ending.. Despair, violence and cute girls with blatant disregard for their own well-being - the stuff that dreams are made of.. As soon as I saw this on steam, I got hyped to buy it.

The art style is beautiful, be it the drawings in a cutscene or the sprites/tileset of the areas of the game.
The setting is, how can I say? It's different, unique, it's an amazing dystopian world, especially the school, where most of the game takes place.
The plot was incredible, sometimes confusing, but if you really pay attention you'll certainly like it. The characters were so well-designed and each character had a different and strong personality, which I loved it.
The gameplay can feel, sometimes, tedious, as you'll need to go back and forth between areas each day, unfortunately I don't think this can be changed, as it would probably force the developer to change a lot of things in the game that made it feel the way it did.. There were some puzzles that I liked it, they weren't that hard but it was at least some variation in gameplay.

Overall I loved the game and everything in it and would definitely recommend this to anyone, especially who enjoyed games like "Kio's Adventure" or maybe even "Yume Nikki", 9/10.. I wish there was more indication on the store page that this was episode 2. I didn't know that when I bought this. I died to a door to the prinicple's office. All in all not a bad game. Thank you to the little yellow hazmat dude for the pepper spray.. An amazing surreal experience! There are some really clever (or trolling) puzzles and so much of this game operates on a "dream-like" logic. The characters are well fleshed out and lovable so you'll surely find yourself rooting for them a lot, and getting upset when bad things happen. It's dark but also very funny at times. Plus the unique mystical yet minimalistic aesthetic is worth playing it by itself! Definitely a game I will remember fondly forever. And it's real cheap so what are you even doing reading this chaotic "review", just go play it and see for yourself!!. Well, that was quite something, alright. It does deliver, that's all I can say without spoiling it.

If you're curious about the game, just play the first Episode which is available for free on itch.io.
