I really wanna play this game and like it but whenever i play a sprint race the game likes to freeze whenever it wants. Please dev's if you are reading this is there any way to fix this???????! cuz i cant progress at all due to these F****** crashes.. I'm a big fan of racing games. I play most that come out. Some wow me, some bore me, some surprise me. Gravel surprised me. I went in not expecting a whole lot, but the videos and previews looked good so I figured why not. Gravel is a very arcadey racer. I put it somewhere in between Sega Rally and DiRT 1-4. The cars and trucks all handle very well with a XB1 controller, some of my favorite arcade handling physics come to think of it. If you turn the assists down/off you can drift everywhere and it's a ton of fun. The trophy trucks handle like they've got some heft to them but still are a blast to drive. I haven't tried this on my Fanatec rig but I don't plan to as this type of game is better suited to a pad. Performance has been rock solid for me on my i5/970 machine. No stutter, no crashing, no bullcrap. They did a good job optimizing this one. I stick to 60fps at 1440p. No ultrawide support right now, but it's coming according to devs. Graphics are beautiful. I have no issues with them. The mud accumulates on the cars and gets washed off in rivers so that's a plus. It's all in the details! The sound is also worth pointing out. The cars sound incredible, especially in the outside chase cam. Very distinct, detailed sounds and plenty of pops and bangs, as you might expect from a rally car. Just do yourself a favor and turn the in-game music and the dialogue off! The locations are all pretty interesting, it's a mix of real rallycross stages and some fictional areas. Every track has it's own unique feel and look. I especially like the snowy stages. The car list is diverse and covers a lot of bases. From old-school classics like the Alpine A110 or Fiat Abarth 124, to the new age Dakar style trucks like the Mini Countryman Diesel and the Renault/Dacia Duster. Trophy Trucks and modern rally cars make an appearance too. Something for everyone. I was surprised by the sheer diversity of vehicles here. This one will stay under the radar. It's not had any significant advertising and it kind of just came out of nowhere. I highly recommend trying it, though- I'm having tons of fun with it. It's a simple, straight-forward off-road racer. Don't expect the second coming here but it's a laugh.. It's good. It isn't going to blow anyone away with it's realism because it doesn't go for that. It's a very arcade style racer in the same way Dirt 2 was. It looks pretty good, but it isn't going to amaze with ultra super realistic graphics, but it will run on a lot more systems and look better doing it than many racers coming out lately. System requirements are very respectable. Presentation is passable, but nothing flashy or super "in your face" is going to be going on here (aside from some very generic rock that plays after you finish a race.) Sound is actually pretty good. Not a lot of cheap pitch shifting to make it seem like the car is revving higher, it sounds like actual engine sounds being revved to their max. All in all it's very enjoyable so far. is it worth $50?. eh, So far I think it is, but That is all going to come down to the amount of content it holds, and it seems to have enough to warranty that price, for me at least.. If you want a new Sega Rally, then that is your game!. The game itself has alot of content offered: - Have a tons variety of cars and car class, such as Cross Country (mostly dakar rally car) , Wildrush (rally car), Speedrcoss (Rallycross), Trophy truck. and have more addition cars (DLC) that contain , Buggy, And Millitary vehicle. - Have much Variety of Track, more than 8 different environment such as beach,forest,ice,etc with different layout so here's the summary Pros: - it run on solid 60 fps ( Mostly on mid end to high pc) - has dynamic fps setting - Simcade Handling - Have a decent graphic on ultra(for me) - Well made career mode - Gorgeous environment - Chellenging AI - alot of content - weather settings on free race - car tuning If you like sega rally style game you will like this too Cons: - Have UNFIXED freeze problem on some track that will make the GAME CRASH (it does happen in some pc, Maybe you wont get this problem if you have really good pc) - Short playtime duration, Only need 15-20 hours to beat career mode - Dead multiplayer - No Split Screen Multiplayer NOTE: THIS GAME PROBABLY WON'T GET ANY UPDATE,PATCH,OR DLC IN THE FUTURE Buy it on sale ---------------------------------- another note for freezing problem: PC specs I36100 3.70 Ghz 8GB ram 1050 2gb 1tb harddisk. cost me 20 and still overpaid. mario cart physics and ps1 graphics. overall could be fun game for a (very)small period but only if you pay 10 or under.. Ahhh, this reminds me of the old days, playing Test Drive and Need For Speed on the Playstation one and 2. Not a sim by any means but that's what I loved about those games. The market is over saturated with sims and not enough GAMES. Verdict: I bought for half price and just started playing but I can tell I will get many hours of fun out of this game. Recommended on sale and get those free cars! Haven't tried anything online, usually it's not my interest. Don't like: DLC: there's a bunch of free cars for the game but you have to launch the game for each and every one of them, then exit game to get the next. I had to unplug a controller I wasn't using to get the menus from flicking from one option to the other. No big deal , just kind of annoying. Get stuck on walls at times. Like: My Logitech G920 worked without any configuration. Fun to drive and some crashes are hilarious fun. NIce tracks. These are ficticious tracks but there's some pretty cool ones. Nice change of pace from the standard real world race tracks I have seen for the last decade of racers. Licensed cars, real cars. Notes: AMD FX 8320 cpu, 16 GBs RAM and an AMD RX480 8 GB graphics card. default game settings are maxed out and usually above 70 fps.. If you kno da wae, you will play this game. This is a good combination of pack racing, rally-X, rally raid, stadium events, snow, sand, forest, etc. multi-style arcade-ish racing without being ridiculously over the top. Easy to play with a controller, decent difficulty compared with most Milestone games, looks great at certain times of day, runs well. Fun to have Trois-Rivires in there, even though the GP circuit is not included. The engine notes are weak, there is a lack of liveries and the AI can get a bit wonky at times, but it's a lot of fun overall. I had to turn off the announcer because he sounds like a bored spaz.
