An interesting look into EG and Starcraft 2.. Tell you stories of how passionate someone can be about making eSport their life, their jobs. Feelings that you might thought have or wouldn't have in competing in this kind of environment. Focusing on Starcraft II games....which is a strategy based games focusing on your fast thinking and micro skills.. The audio soundtracks that was in the background was annoying but over all a good documentary.. An interesting look into EG and Starcraft 2.. "this guy said hi to me... and i told him to ♥♥♥♥ off"
10/10 would overreact to basic social queues again.. Amazing documentary, I used to watch a lot of these people when I was younger. Boxer even makes an appearance. This movie makes people who had this dream reflect upon themselves, and it is both nostalgic and saddening at the same time.. I really enjoyed it, it's nice to see what EG was back then. I became a casual viewer of SC2 in 14/15 so it was all things I'd heard bits of. Also nice to see Geoff since he's one of my main sources of SC2 now.. I'd be lying if I said this wasn't worth watching, but there are a few shortcomings. It's basically just about a single e-sports team, and it left me wondering whether other such teams work in a similar manner or otherwise. Another thing is that you could argue that it's outdated. A lot has changed with the game since this movie was made, so it's not exactly an up-to-date perspective.
That being said, it was still nice to see the history of Evil Geniuses and how things went down 'back in the day'. Nevertheless, I suspect that EG itself has changed at least somewhat since the making of this movie, and that's another question that came to mind while watching: does EG still really work in this way today?
All in all, I guess we should be glad that any movie at all is being made about an e-sports team, especially a Starcraft 2 one. So if you're an avid fan of Starcraft 2 like I am, this is definitely worth watching. Otherwise, it might only appeal to those curious about how an e-sports team functions, and even then you might be slightly let down.. I really enjoyed it, it's nice to see what EG was back then. I became a casual viewer of SC2 in 14/15 so it was all things I'd heard bits of. Also nice to see Geoff since he's one of my main sources of SC2 now.. Pretty good doc
