Through flashbacks, Full English Breakfast follows the violent career of Dave Bishop (Dave Courtney) a small-time London villain who kills his way to the top of Britain's drugs empire. Now happily 'retired' on the Kent coast Dave becomes embroiled in a bloody battle of wits with Al Qaeda terrorists who want to take over his criminal empire. Adding to the old mobster's woes is his younger trophy wife (Lucy Drive) wanting to play away with his new driver (Jamie Bannerman).
"you lie, you die"! Dave Bishop played by the charismatic Ex-Gangster Dave Courtney, gives one of his best performances yet as an actor. However I thought at the start of the film there was some bad acting for a British gangster movie but as the film went on and i got the idea of the storyline you seem to get used to the acting and more engrossed in the plot. great twist at the end that I didn't see coming. from what I have read about Dave Courtney I see a lot of traits in Dave Bishop.In my opinion this film should have gone into main stream cinema rather than into one cinema for the opening night and then straight to DVD. I'm not a gangster enthusiast, or a wanna be. I just believe these types of Gritty British Gangster films are doing the British film industry proud.
Full English Breakfast combines the slick, high tension filmmaking in fashion today with the values of good solid story telling from the pot boilers of yesterday.

The film is set mostly in Kent, where Dave Bishop is a powerful, brutal drug baron who rules his own private empire. He's protected by his brother Derek, but he lowers his guard to allow a stranger into his inner circle, an army man gone awol called Jamie who knows that Bishop has an unsavoury reputation, but he doesn't plan to get involved his business.

That's before he sees Bishop's stunning wife Susan, first seen in a voyeuristic camera shot that shows her slowly climbing a flight of stairs. Jamie and Susan soon fall in love, and the army man makes himself at home in Bishop's sprawling home by the sea and becomes his driver and chief drugs courier. All the establishing scenes in the film are effective and we understand that Bishop has made a calculating decision to lift his ruthless guard to allow this newcomer inside which leads to a jaw dropping conclusion.
