The Wild West...

The turning point of all Western civilisation, the dawn of an era- for the first time in decades people could leave their hard lives all over the world with the hopes of becoming rich beyond their wildest dreams.

Do you want to make money out of the gold rush? Or do you have other plans in mind? No matter! Whatever you want to do, you will be able to do in Frontier! Currently in Early Access, we have huge plans for development and a dedicated team who is ready to bring you a steady stream of updates so you're always finding new features to discover. With everything from tobacco farming and cigarette rolling to crime fighting and destroying evidence in the works, we are working towards creating the most diverse simulation of the frontier movement ever imagined for gamers to experience!

But what's it all about?

Frontier is whatever you want it to be. The current version already brings you a robust building system, resource gathering, stunning graphics with PBR textures, a huge map (which is tiny in comparison to the final world we're constructing), 6 types of animal to hunt, alcohol to keep you entertained on your travels, wild hallucinogenic plants to harvest and consume, a butchery system so you can skin dead animals, plus a beautiful and dynamic weather simulation.

But this is only the beginning.

Frontier is in it's infancy. Over the next few months, the game will grow to include countless new features, including intelligent NPCs to populate your cities, a detailed economic simulation, and an enormous and lore-rich environment, just to name a tiny amount of what we have planned.

Our designs revolve around player freedom. We want to put the world in your hands, giving you complete control over how you live your life in the Wild West. Create settlements and manage your people, become a cattle baron and make your fortune, compete in drinking contests in one of your own saloons, trade goods, fight outlaws, rob banks and engage in the hundreds of activities we have planned!

Many more blocks for our building system, allowing you to create expensive, upscale mansions and cozy campsites
Enormous, lore-rich map system for you to explore, with different areas bringing their own environments and wildlife
Diverse activities system, bringing you everything from drinking contests and shooting challenges to bar brawls and bounty hunting
Indepth "Vice" System- New drugs to harvest and create, illegal activities to take part in for quick cash, and even poker tournaments

A classic example of steam and a bad dev group working together to steal peoples money! Don't buy this game if you value your money and time and steam support are a bunch of greedy bastards that won't refund broken or abandoned games. Those of you who can't get refunds you should look into exposing steam for what they are. Normally I support steam but not refunding a game that is clearly abandoned and not working proves steam cares less about it's wonderful community of players. I hope one of you players with lots of money one day get fed up with steam support and there garbage refund policy and sue there asses They deserve it! Steam support -1000000000/10. First of all, if you plan on buying the game. It is alpha. It will probably be alpha for a little while to come. Keep that in mind when playing and enjoy the features the game currently has. It is the first game that made me write a review so far.

The game runs buttery smooth on my end. It has no real settings menu yet and you can see some things are made with a higher standard then others, but I am sure this will be worked on. Some textures for instance look really good. Some of them don't.

Movement feels good though animations do seem to feel a little scripted and clean. This is however not different to any other early access game in its infancy and I can only imagine these things will receive the refinement they need as great things are possible with this game engine.

This is the first game in the genre that I was drawn to. And for the price of a pizza it is a great way to support the devs in making it the game it could one day be.

10/10, would skip pizza again to buy this game.. I understand this is in Early Access, but I have played better Indie games on the 360 that probably took a day to make. But if they worked on expanding the worlds and adding ALOT of stuff , this game would go places. But as it is, its a waste at $12.99. To sum it up, I would not recommend this game at this moment. Maybe in the future.. when I first launched the game, the ground was see-through and I clipped through hills.. Yes its in Early, Early Access. However, It truly is an incredible and beautiful game, with a simple build that has enormous potential. You have to automatically love the Wild west feel. They really nailed the landscape and scenery. The rifle you spawn with is pretty accurate for the time.

Great soundtrack at the begining, kudos to whomever developed that song.
Reflections are awesome, very detailed on how the daylight and moonlight reflect on different surfaces.

Next is why I really think this game is a keeper.
Thunderstorm was AMAZING- expected a flashflood to careen down the canyon, plant movement blowing in the wind, thunder rolling, lightning brilliantly lights up the sky, and wind blowing through leaves sound. Misty mountain sides, vison obscured, the whole time its raining, its an amazing, and extremly realistic feel.

Moonlight and nighttime is beautiful
The distance to see a campfire is super realistic, i've been out in the desert where you can see any type of light from super far away, which is the case here. (because its dark at night, with only the moon and the stars)
Wall mount mechanics are wonderful, the wall mounts snap to the walls quite well.
Intuitive reloading system and using the same key for object rotation. Speaks to the three coders. A lot of coding goes in to that small flawless switch of needed controls.

Again, there are plenty of bugs in building mechanics, and they have plenty to do, but the potential and options for this game are endless. It fits the perfect criteria of a much desired, and extremly empty genre of Sandbox Western Frontier game that hopefully will have a story line and an optional RPG feel to it.

It's time people support this group. This type of game is what the world needs next.. Don't bother if you use a Mac. It doesn't work. It will come to a black screen and then display the rainbow cursor but never launch.
