A ridiculously hilarious music game.. Frederic is back with a new piano, a new ride and a new look. He no longer looks like a dirty Van Helsing, now he looks like a wanna be Michael Jackson. I have carpal tunnel in my left wrist after beating the game. I prefer the other games musical tracks to this one. These tracks are rather long and quite hard to beat on higher difficulty. Anyways, can't beat the price.. In case you're not familiar with Frederic yet, you'd better start from the beginning. There's also a 'Director's Cut' version, but it's not that better (and original game is cheaper anyway).

I admit, I've been sceptical about the game, because I always am about the sequels and also because I've seen some negative reviews, but I totally recommend this one.

+++ It's still FUN!
+++ the MUSIC. It's different now. Frederic no longer plays his own sonates and concerts, but has to perform the variations of the more recent music instead. Most of the tracks have recognizable 'prototypes'. Final boss track just ROCKS.
++ the story is still there, somewhat even more hilarious compared to F:RoM
++ the gameplay is more varied now (e.g. pairs of notes, coloured notes)
+ the note patterns seem more logical and less chaotic. I think it's a bit easier than RoM, though some have it vice versa.
+ the characters are all good (and hilarious too)
+ cinematics are as good as in F:RoM (sometimes even better)

- Those who had prefered mouse for the first game are very likely to be annoyed. Some things don't go well with clicking (like hitting double notes or playing some sequences). But controls had never been the strongest point for the 'Frederics'.. Easy to play, hard to master

Definately already one of my favourite rythem games so far! I wish there are more like this.

The only let down is the bad voice acting, but it does contrast to how weird the story is anyway, it's comic, it's fun to play, and you'll be replaying the songs over and over just to get the perfect score. This game has an unique art style and has a good soundtrack. It's funny, but would be way funnier if you played this on its release year because of some meme references.

It has a few music references as well. The gameplay is simple and can be very challenging.

Since the campaign is kinda short, i recommend to only buy this on sale.. When I got this game I expected something like Dance Dance Revolution or Deemo..... My mistake... This game's story makes no sense at all and it's really REALLY corny. The controls are awkward and personally I don't like how the whole thing works.... In other words, don't get this game full price, if anything get it while it's on sale.

On the bright side I only spent 99 cents!. Got this game for about $0.48... I'd say this game is easily worth $5.00. The music in it is just amazing and I love how true this game is. For instance, Frederic had this horrible phobia of being buried alive so in his will, he stated that he wanted his heart removed from his chest and in this game, he's trying to find it. Pretty cool stuff man.. i think that the controls are poo poo doo doo but maybe i'm just really bad at this game

or both. I should have known I wouldn't enjoy this given how the previous game ended. chopin becomes some kind of weird♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥with a keytar at the end of the first game, and then you spend this game running around playing a lot of music that sounds good but some pairings don't make sense, like pairing an abba sounding song with a kiss themed band, cause that makes sense, I saw "Hiss" and was obviously psyched to play a kiss themed song, turns out to be abba and I knew I wasn't gonna enjoy this. baring in mind I skipped every god damn cutscene cause I could not stand them this time around, I watched the first one, realised this was how they were gonna do the rest of them and decided forget it I'll just skip through everything. and honestly I feel like I dodged a bullet with that decision given how much I disliked the rest of the game. Now to explain how impossible it is to play this on pc, so I played the last game with my mouse and had a generally good time the story was dumb and the ending fairly awful, but the music was good , this time you cannot play with a mouse no matter how good you are with one. basically from the onset you are beset with a swarm of notes that you will miss most of, and as you go further it obviously gets harder and more likely you will get a lower score. Keyboard is no better you're undoubtedly off tempo with keyboard, like I changed up the keybindings for keyboard and, even though I followed the tempo i still missed almost every note. So yeah controls are awful seriously just play this with touch input. there is a point where I almost quit because a German dancing robot hit me with a million simultaneous notes at once, like how do you hit all those notes at once? do i just slam my hand all over the keyboard and hope for the best?
Maybe I should have headbutt my monitor for best results.

TLDR:

Aside from some decent music, this game is a definite pass.

Play the previous title in the series, way more fun and you get to play as a proper respected Chopin, not some swaglord ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who by the end of the game goes super saiyan for some ridiculous reason.

If you absolutely must get this game wait for a sale, do NOT buy at full price it's not worth it.

2/10. Frederic is back with a new piano, a new ride and a new look...
