At the moment of writing this review I have very little time in-game because I bought this way back when it was first released and just got my steam key, but this game is so amazing in almost every way, especially for an indie project by a small team without much funding. The art is impeccable, the writing pace never fails to make my heart drop during the especially horrific routes and each voice actor added to the characters even more than was already provided.. It's rather simple, but there are many character routs. So if you are in for the sort of dark theme that makes you curious as to where each character will take you, then I think you'll enjoy this intertwined story. P.S. I've only played two routes of the entire roster, but first one was yandere as so it had me on edge on my second route. The writing is pretty decent, and the characters are pretty okay. They sometimes steer to the stereotypical sides, but they're still fairly believable. It's a pretty easy VN, I think, to play when you don't want to think too much. I say that as a compliment. Would probably keep playing once I get over my fear of yandere characters, haha. It'll be a challenge for me.. I enjoyed it.. At the very least I'd say it's worth the play. All twelve of the characters are unique and intriguing in their own way, and the overarching plot line is really cool once you unlock it! With that said, I think it's pretty lacking as far as horror goes. Of the twelve, there are only three character routes that I would actually consider horror, plus one who has a fairly average route but an insanely dark past. The rest of them felt like pretty average stories with just a few swear words and a little blood tossed in to check off the "horror" box.. NOTE: I owned and played this game before its Steam release so my playtime does not reflect actual time played. A great visual novel made by a two-person team with a surprisingly large cast of characters, each with their own route, multiple endings, and unlockable prequel and epilogue scenes. You should expect to be locked into a character's route relatively early on, and generally without being fully aware of it until you're already well into your interactions with said character. While some have criticized this, I think it reinforces the constant theme of being "trapped" with these people (sometimes literally!). There is no completely "good" character here; in fact they all have some serious issues. How that impacts you, though, is up to the choices you make once you are in a specific route. You may not always like the options you're presented, or even the events that happen along a particular route. But as a whole, the game is definitely something that I think should be experienced and appreciated for the effort that has been put into it. Lastly, Ophelia is best girl and nobody can convince me otherwise.
