About This Game

Bounce is a VR physics-based puzzle game for the HTC Vive and Oculus Touch. Under the supervision of H8-Bit and 2Bit, two robots tasked with overseeing security of the intergalactic spaceship, players must help D1G-B, their spherical robot companion, traverse levels using an array of gadgets at their disposal to exit each level’s portal. With moving obstacles, laser gates, gravity wells, and multi-floor levels obstructing the path of D1G-B, players will have to use their creativity to construct solutions.

50 Levels of ever increasing complexity. Oh, there are levels where you will hate us, but we bet you can't stop!

Bounce is a perfect example of how VR can be used to create new and entertaining experiences in three dimensions. The premise is simple, get a cute ball from one end of an obstacle course to the other using a limited set of pieces and a limited number of attempts at trial and error along the way.

What sets Bounce apart from a lot of tepid VR puzzlers is that it takes full advantage of all three dimensions. The ball usually starts in the ceiling, and you have a limited amount of momentum to get it quite some distance to a target that could also be up in the ceiling, or behind numerous baffles, or only after finding a way to get through several hoops between start and finish.

Bounce earns distinction not only for the puzzles, but its soundtrack as well. The audio is enjoyable (except for the sad, sad sound of D1G-B hitting a bulkhead - and even that's amusing). The graphics are up to snuff and the game looks polished and professional.

If I have a disappointment with the game, it's that it doesn't tell you what "par" is for each course. Figuring out that style doesn't matter (in the first go-round) only the number of times you test your pathway for D1G-B was both mildly frustrating and a minor let down.

All in all, if you enjoy puzzle games, Bounce is a great one to buy.. Excellent puzzle game. Very immersive and has great mechanics. I like the feedbback loop that is created, which makes solving puzzle more enjoyable. Haven't played too much, but have got maybe 15 levels done or so. Much more challenging as you progress, but definitely managable and not infuriating like other puzle games.. Played the demo, and I was impresssed enough to pick up the full version. So far its been a lot of fun - the controls are simple, and the gameplay works great for room scale. Fun puzzle game that feels like a complete game, not just "part 1" or "early access" which a lot of current VR titles seem to be.. Initial review which will be updated after more playtime (but in the meantime, this game needs to be seen by more people!):

This game is great. It's one of those puzzle games where you got to get your little guy to some end goal by building a track with various properties. What's great about this in VR is you can really get a feel for the 3D configuration that you're building and can watch from wherever you want.
