Choose from the classic one-hit, one-kill gameplay style, or utilize a new life bar and item system for a more aggressive gameplay style. Earn multiple achievements in single and multi-player modes to increase your Gamer Score. Up to 8 players can engage in frantic battles for survival online through Xbox Live and earn points to become the ultimate weapon on the World Rankings.
Bomberman has been one of my favourite game characters, the games were always great fun especially the Multipalyer modes where you could spend hours with your mates blowing each other up in various arenas, when I heard that they was doing a more darker and edgy Bomberman game I was intrigued by it. Bomberman was always a cute little character that ran around dropping bombs in colourful levels but here was a game that saw a Cyborg looking character dropping bombs in a dark gritty arena, being a fan of Bomberman and being impressed with Hudson Soft's latest Bomberman game at the time on the Nintendo DS I decided to buy it since I thought it could be a great reinvention of the franchise, when I put the disk in and turned it on I was interested with the moody tone of the game with the Introduction and main title screen but as soon as I pressed the start button I noticed a tiny problem with this game. It didn't have a local Multiplayer meaning I couldn't play it with anyone in the house like the previous Bomberman games, I then played the single player mode and I was impressed with the dark gritty style of the game and the look of the Bomberman was kind of edgy but then I noticed another problem with the game. It had no extra lives, continues or save feature meaning that if you get killed and you was on the final Stage of the game you have to start at the very beginning, now this can be very annoying especially when there are 99 Stages in this game.

The game has two different modes, First Person Bomber mode has a camera so you can zoom in and out and rotate around your character plus you have Health. Standatd mode has the camera set in a birds eye view so you can see the whole arena, unlike FPB mode you don't have health so if you get hit by a bomb blast it's game over however the levels do have hit points to allow to take damage. In FPB you get health points that increase the amount of Stamina you have, the game play for both modes are the same since all you do is go through various stages trying to blow up various opponents in each Stage.

Bomberman: Act Zero could of been a great reinvention for the Bomberman franchise but instead it became a disappointment due to the fact that it was rushed, if Hudson Soft gave more time to develop this game it could of been so much better.

Newcomers to the series and Bomberman fans may want to stick with the other Bomberman games like Super Bomberman and Bomberman 64 unless you're really curious to see how different Hudson Soft have made this. 5/10

The reason I gave it five out of ten is because I like the dark creative style of the game and I do enjoy playing it once in a while when I'm in the mood to see how far I can get.
