An air compressor, from its name, is a tool used to compress atmospheric air for specific purposes. 

You don't have to panic every time the AC breaks down, especially during the summer.  A heat exchanger can indeed be used to cool down compressed air temperature coming from the compressor: lowering air temperature is achieved by contact thermal transfer with the cold surface area of plates, with condensation process based on pressure dew point, extracting water from compressed air - screw air compressors.
