A talented high school lacrosse player deals with the pain from his military dad's death, a resentful new coach, and consequences of his own arrogance.
In shock and denial over his Marine father's death in battle, star lacrosse player Conor Sullivan, always a maverick and a hothead, starts acting out in self-destructive ways that have his mom, Claire, at her wit's end, but arduous training in a wilderness lacrosse camp under the tutelage of his dad's old combat buddy, Sgt. Major Duke Wayne, opens Conor's eyes to the true meaning of maturity, sportsmanship and manhood.
The son of an active soldier goes through a hard phase of his life. After his father dies, he has to learn to control his temper and work with a team (not as a lone wolf that he is) in order to fulfill his dream of becoming a lacrosse champion. He's about to quit but he receives some unexpected help from a friend of his father's which will prove to be decisive in his near future.

It's a pretty ordinary movie which features a special teenager with problems of his own which has to overcome his condition in order to achieve his goal and, of course, get the girl. A typical story, with typical characters and a predictable course of events. It's a good and enjoyable movie which unfortunately fails to deliver something special to raise it from the crowd. A Warrior's Heart – CATCH(Beginning)TRASH(Middle)CATCH(Ending) (C+) I personally love sports movies and I have never seen a movie about Lacrosse. A Warrior's Heart is about a hotheaded boy Conner who loses his temper when his father dies in war. The movie starts well and ends well but it gets tedious in the middle. Especially all the lectures and scenes in the woods are extremely boring.

Kellan Lutz is charming and acted pretty well compare to his few lines in every Twilight movie. Ashley Green is cute and does a decent job of a girlfriend. Chord Overstreet is fine along with rest of the Lacrosse team players.

Overall, it's a teenage pastime movie and whoever has hearts for Lacrosse can enjoy. It plays like a string of cliches linked together to form a movie with not a single moment of surprise or originality.
