Taking control of Ophelia and her ‘tulpa’ Oliver, players must journey through lands full of mysterious, bizarre and often deadly encounters. Very interesting game; the art style is quite unique, as is the gameplay, but I feel it leaves a bit too much up to the player's imagination.

And by that I mean the game literally tells you NOTHING about the story or what's going on at any point.

Still, 8\/10.. I found Tulpa on sale for $2-$3. The art is what solely caught my attention. It is so beautiful and creepy I love it! Keep in mind, there are a few annoyances with the game and controls, the puzzles made no sense, and the game is very short, 3-4 hours, but in the end, I was left wanting more visual eye candy, and overall, I am very satisfied. I would recommend for art lovers and casual gamers.. I definitely recommend this game if you like atmospheric and relaxing games. The ambience is great and trippy. However it is very short. But still a nice game.. 2D platformer with surreal approaches. You are a german girl in a dirndl running through a (rather well looking) dark world and constantly die. You die if you stand still, you die if you tuch water, you die from the falling chandelier. Dying is ok, super meat boy is fun while constantly dying, but here everytime you die it loads up to 10 seonds and puts you back on a fixed checkpoint from where you first have to crawl back to the place you died. The death are 90% unforeseeable resulting in demotivation really fast.. Tulpa is interesting game. Yes, it is very short. I enjoyed music in this game it was really relaxing and it was just perfect for it. There were some "puzzles", but they were too easy. Mechanics not the best i stuck in one place only because i had to take "thingy" from top not itself. Completed it almost in 2 hours. Games was really simple, but i recommend to move with arrows not WASD because its not really comfortable to press Z and/or X when you move with"wasd".
Overall i enjoyed it, music was relaxing, puzzles could have been much better and harder. About length i don't have anything to say because games like Tulpa aren't those longest.
6.5/10 Enjoyable but lacking a lot.. Clunky mechanics/platforming and a story so vague that it is uninteresting.. Tulpa is a Limbo-ripoff... - uh, Limbo-homage with decent graphical design, sub-par programming and terrible controls.

There are two characters, each with different "skills", which made me think it'll be like Lost Vikings. However, the characters have to stay together (one will always follow the other) and the "skills" are obvious to use. So, no unique puzzle situations are created out of it.

The good:
- Some of the locations and backgrounds look nice.

The bad:
- Puzzles are unimaginative.
- No story to speak of.
- The game runs awfully.
- The controls are unbelievably bad. It's almost impossible to make the character jump when you want to.

Verdict:
Avoid, even when on sale.. Interesting but rather short game. Game aesthetics are distinct and gorgeous but gameplay and controls have some rough edges. Nevertheless game is well worth playing (even if you have no idea what "tulpa" is).. Wanted to like this. I tried, I really did, but the controls are awful and when trying to jump, Ophelia hardly ever bloody jumps correctly leading to death and having to start over, and over, and over again until I feel like throwing things.
It's clunky and not enjoyable. It's a frustrating waste of money.
I may give it a go again but frankly, I'm tired of turning into shattered glass and repetitive motions.
