This game is such a lil' gem! I think you can tell pretty well if you're going to like it from the description and screenshots. It's whimsical and simple and definitely right on when it says it's made to please introverts. I loved wandering around the first time, but honestly, it's only gotten better each time I've checked in (in little 10-15 minute sessions). The characters are charming and funny, the environment is goofy and satisfying to kick, and the sound effects are calming. A+.. I love this game. The controls are limited (wasd or arrow keys, no sprint or jump). It would benifit from having achievements and the ability to jump on houses and whatnot. Or, maybe some objectives or optional quests. Beautiful simple game with a simple premise.. This is a beautiful, peaceful lazy-day simulator. You can watch the day and the seasons go by. Pros: you can go for a nice walk when there's too much weather to go outside in the real world. Cons: I accidentally kicked my bike over a mountain and couldn't get it back.. This game is very unfinished. The game promises dialogues but they are only two sentences long. There is a bike that you can't ride, you can't sit or swim in the water. Art style is interesting but definitely not worth the 5u00a3 for 2 minutes of entertainment.. Theres something wonderful about Lovely Weather Were Having, by Julian Glander. Maybe it has something to do with the bright pastel colours, off-the-wall characters and adorable little pug that faithfully follows you wherever you go? Its a delightful plaything, thats undeniable, but it leaves me craving more than it can offer. You and your little pug friend have been locked out of the house, and have nothing but roaming around the village and talking to the locals to pass the time. And what a weird bunch of locals they are. Theres a giant sea monster, for one thing, who is much more approachable and friendly than his exterior may suggest. Then theres the guy with the rockin afro, slumped beside his house and always asking philosophical questions. Im pretty sure hes the games token stoner, though. Theres over a dozen of these lovable characters to encounter, and they will always be happy to spit out some mystifying conundrum, or piece of advice. The game, in a clever little piece of technological jiggery-pokery, can extrapolate time and weather details based on where you are playing, and the town and townspeople will react accordingly. At night time youll receive a torch to run around with and so on. Little touches like that keep things interesting, and add a little variety to your encounters youll have with your neighbours. You arent supposed to play for extended periods of time. Rather, a few short 10-15 minute bursts at different times of the day. That way youll get to experience the day gracefully fade to night, and the various mood changes your neighbours have throughout the day. Its just a kick in the pants that theres not much more to Lovely Weather Were Having. Im not new to these goal-free games, where exploration is your only real objective, but Im a little disheartened nonetheless. The games world and the people that inhabit it are so well-crafted, that its difficult to believe that there isnt more to discover. Just a little more interaction, please, thats all I ask. Dont let my slight grievances put you off, though. Lovely Weather Were Having is a gorgeous game to explore, and Glanders signature art style will appeal just as much to adults as it will to children. People of a more serene disposition will glean more enjoyment out of Lovely Weather Were Having than the rest of us, but I suspect that was the intention all along.. like gumby meets animal crossing. I enjoyed the game and really dig the art style, It lacks a bit much to do but I'd love to see you do more with the look in the future.. This game is like a weird, rubbery mash of Animal Crossing and Miffy. It's bizarre, it's colorful, it's quiet.. This game just doesn't have enough content. You can walk about and not really interact meaningfully with anything. You can't interact with your dog that follows you about. There's a bicycle which you can walk into, some rocks and things which make interesting noises when you walk on them. A hilltop to walk up, so you can walk along rooftops. It doesn't lead you anywhere interesting. There are NPCs who will say about 2 lines of dialogue to you. Then you turn around and talk to them again, and they say something else. But in total, it seemed like there were about 4 things they would say, each. Maybe it was due to the weather that they hardly had anything interesting to say. It was sunny and cloudy, early evening. One NPC gave me an idea of something I could do. and I did try. but I don't think it's really possible to jump. All you can do is walk off things. The in-game map is very small. After 8 minutes I felt like I had exhausted all the content in this game. After 19 minutes, I felt certain of it, so I resorted to the super secret cheat code. In the instruction manual (YES! Games still have those!) there is a super-secret code that lets you toggle debug things. I would not normally touch such a thing, but. to be honest, it makes the game a lot better. It lets you zoom the camera out, and walk faster. You can also ruin the "exploratory" experience and alter the temperature, time of day, and weather, to see how the game changes, meet different NPCs, see a few different things to run into. After 26 minutes I felt like I'd seen everything the game has to offer. I really wanted to like this game. It has the potential to be something like a micro Animal Crossing - but without the hurtfully judgemental neighbours. (Or the fashion, or collecting, or money. but mostly this was the potential I thought this game could offer). But. it all just feels too shallow for me. It needs more content. All this game did was make me want to play Noby Noby Boy on PS3, which has a very similar art style, and is also more-or-less goal-free. but has more interesting content to see every time you come to play it (though no dialogue), and gameplay which involves eating and stretching, which are two of my favourite pastimes.. A very lovely experience.
