This compound features a fully renovated main house that dates to the 1940s and a wealth of outbuildings that include two guesthouses and dining and entertainment pavilions.

“It’s now being used as a single-family house, but it would be a perfect family compound because of the multiple buildings and all of the bells and whistles that a family would enjoy,” listing agent Mary Kehoe said.

“It truly has a lot of wow factor,” she said. “It’s very much a conversation piece.”

The main residence was originally designed in 1947 by John Gaw Meem, a celebrated Santa-Fe-based architect who is best known for his instrumental role in the development and popularization of the Pueblo Revival style and as a proponent of architectural regionalization in the face of international modernism, according to published reports.

The owner, an interior designer, has recently completed a hands-on, top-to-bottom renovation and update of the home.

“She left a lot of the original house but breathed new life into it,” Ms. Kehoe said. “She was her own contractor and made this her full-time job; it took her almost four years.”

It still has typical Santa Fe architectural elements, such as a Mexican tiled roof, “but it’s contemporary, not your typical Southwestern style,” Ms. Kehoe said.

Other architectural and design details include French limestone and reclaimed French oak floors with radiant heat, 12- to 14-foot ceilings, a white stucco front gate, a cobblestone driveway, and beamed ceilings throughout, including reclaimed wooden beams from a barn in Pennsylvania in the dining room ceiling.

An indoor-outdoor room off the kitchen has doors that can be opened up completely.

“The kitchen is huge, with a cooking area, an eating area and a bar and cocktail area,” Ms. Kehoe said. “Everything is new and cool.”

A former chapel on the property is now an entertainment pavilion, with a billiards table and multiple televisions for watching sports. There is also a dining pavilion next to the large vegetable garden.

“It’s a luxurious house, a glamorous house and a really fun house,” Ms. Kehoe said. “It’s almost resort-like in how it feels.”

One of its best features, she said, is its elevated location, so that you have 360-degree views across Santa Fe and the surrounding mountains. “It’s kind of unique to be in town and have that kind of panoramic view.”
