The Steel Twins devise new weapons, the Fighting Hawks, which are specially-powered versions of each SilverHawk's favorite tool, just in time for Mon*star's attack on the planet Automata.
Plot; When Mon-Star finds a way to mass produce Sky Shadow, the Silverhawks have to step up their efforts to create mechanical bird sidekicks of their own.

Generally speaking, SIlverhawks is a lousy cartoon. It's a shame (and a bit of a surprise) because it wastes some really great assets in the process. For one, it's got a killer theme song and a great soundtrack in general (even by 80s standards, where the bar for such things was exceptionally high). The designs are cool and iconic, and the premise fresh and rife with possibilities. Unfortunately, the writing is often terrible and the heroes are so stiff they'd be more at home in a Viagra commercial. Made by the same folks who produced Thundercats (and with basically the same voice cast), it rarely manages to find the latter's groove. Even here, with a seemingly simple and fun premise it manages to be the cartoon equivalent to watching pain dry.
