David Haller is a patient in a mental hospital. He has been there for several years now and life is pretty much uneventful. Then one day a new patient, beautiful Syd, arrives and he is immediately smitten by her. Little does he realise how his life is about to be turned upside and him discover special powers that he never knew he had.
David Haller is a troubled young man diagnosed as schizophrenic, but after a strange encounter, he discovers special powers that will change his life forever.
WE'RE TRYING REALLY HARD TO NOT BE A SUPERHERO SHOW! Ugh...idk, the show is high quality and I applaud the effort put into it BUT Legion is trying realllllly reallllllllly hard to say "hey yeah technically we're an xmen show but not really." The folks behind this show are just trying too hard to be better than what they are... A really good hamburger is great... but it's still just a hamburger. For every episode of the first season, this fact kept nagging at me and annoying the hell out of me. Like the show runners are totally fine using the Xmen brand to help promote their show but when you watch an episode its abundantly clear they don't want to be grouped in with all that typical Marvel stuff.

Honestly, I respect what they're trying to do but I just don't think this show is all that good. I was bored and really didn't care about any of the characters. Dan Stevens is solid but his character is so boring, so whiny, so lame. Aubrey Plaza...jeez... this chick again. The Hollywood Powers That Be must love her or her mom is best friends with the execs at FX because she just keeps getting opportunity after opportunity . She sucks. Every scene, every beat, every stupid facial gesture... God she almost made me pull the plug before the end of the season.

I'm sure it'll find an audience, like I said, they'll use that Marvel branding to draw folks in... as for this guy... I've seen enough and I've better things to do. 5stars for Effort. Out of all the source material available, all of it everywhere, they went and copied Sucker Punch, Twilight and DC Legends. If you liked the Hunger Games Mocking Bird you will like this, but if you liked The One Who Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest avoid, if you liked Twilight you will like this, but if you liked the original Carrie avoid.

When we cross superheroes with lunatics, what do we get folks. No we don't get villains. We get whackoheroes. After revealing that premise, need we bother continuing with the trauma of this parody? The age group is painfully young in its demographic, despite of the show's certification, think Arrow season 1, now think Arrow season 3.

So instead it is the airbrushed surfer beach bum spray on tan, ride the waves on these superpowers, and the Anti-Establishment theme tune masked in cowspiracy, the result of ADHD. Importantly those mommy and daddy issues where gender identity becomes confused, the multiple personalities that are carried, and this results in telekensis, that the government wants to control. Not Shutter Island, think Prison Break, but we're only peeling away the first layer of this onion. It might get better, no I doubt it, the model is awful.

Here's to hoping that I don't miss much.
