Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitors' interest, which backfires horribly.
22 years after the original Jurassic Park failed, the new park (also known as Jurassic World) is open for business. After years of studying genetics the scientists on the park genetically engineer a new breed of dinosaur. When everything goes horribly wrong, will our heroes make it off the island?
Review: You see what happens when humans mess with nature! This movie was proper epic and the showdown at the end was amazing. I didn't really see the point why the director added the kids because it would have been much better if it was just based on Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard). With that aside, the CGI was amazing and the director done a great job with making it seem like the dinosaurs were really next to the humans. Anyway, this 4th movie in the Jurassic Park franchise, sees a rich business man, Manrani (Irrfan Khan) who wants an new attraction for his popular theme park for all ages, so the scientists come together and build a monstrous, genetic killing machine from the DNA of various dinosaurs. Claire is in control of Jurassic World and she is trying to convince some investors to fund the attraction whilst looking after her nephews who have come to spend some time with her. As she is too busy to spend time with her nephews, they go off on a VIP tour of the theme park, with a guide, to see the various dinosaurs that it has to offer. On another side of Jurassic World, Owen is in charge of the Velociraptors which he has built a relationship with. Hoskins (Vincent D'Onofrio) plays a militant army man who wants to use the Velociraptors as killing machines because Owen has the ability to control them but Owen is totally against the idea and he is more interested in taming the animals who have the ability to become killers. Because of his amazing ability to communicate with the Velociraptors, Claire calls on Owen to have a look at there new genetic dinosaur, the Indominus Rex and they soon realise that he has gone missing. Owen then takes a couple of his work colleagues to see were the dinosaur has disappeared to and they are shocked to see that he has tricked them by making it seem like he was missing but he is really there. The Indominus Rex then escapes from his compound and the ferocious killing machine is heading towards the theme park which has over 20,000 visitors. After many attempts to capture the dinosaur, and failing at every hurdle, Owen turns to his Velociraptors to save the day, only to find out that there species is also in the Indominus Rex DNA. Also, Claire's nephews have gone missing so they have to track them down while everyone is running around in a panic because loads of flying Dimorphodons have been let loose from there compound. Anyway, the only way that they can stop the ferocious killing machine is by releasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex who goes toe to toe with the Indominus Rex, with the help of some Veloraptors. The storyline was very well put together but the director wasted a lot of time on irrelevant material. Once the movie eventually gets going it's full of intensity and some gruesome scenes, for a 12A certificate movie. To me, the Indominus Rex looked pretty scary for a 12 year old and the way that it was killing people is enough to give kids nightmares. Anyway, the attention to detail was spot on and Chris Pratt was the perfect choice for his role. You can tell that he tamed down his acting, compared to Guardians of the Galaxy but there are some comedic scenes which gives the movie a great variety of mixed emotions. I had to watch the showdown at the end a few times because it did shock me, like the end fight in the Incredible Hulk between Hulk and Abomination, so I can't wait to see what they do with the sequel, or should I say the 5th movie. My overall opinion of the movie is that the script was a bit sketchy but the action scenes were amazing. Great, epic film.

Round-Up: This movie was directed by Colin Trevorrow, 39, whose only brought you two small movies called Reality Show and Safety Guaranteed starring Aubrey Plaza. He must have given a hell of a pitch to get this project because he hasn't had that much experience behind the camera. With the help of, highly respected, Steven Spielberg as executive producer and Frank Marshall as producer, they really put together a great film but it could have done with a few tweaks in the script. With that aside, it's still the 3rd biggest movie of all time, making a whopping ($1.7Billion), behind Avatar ($2.8Billion) and Titanic ($2.2Billion) so Colin must be very happy with his 1st major project. The first Jurassic Park is in 19th place with $1Billion and Jurassic Park: The Lost World is in 99th place with $612million so, for some unknown reason, much more people paid there big bucks to see this movie, than the original. I did prefer the original movie because of the water shivering in the cup scene, along with the man getting eaten by the dinosaur while he's on the toilet. Anyway, Chris Pratt, 36, has really hit the jackpot with his last 2 movies and with another Jurassic World in the pipeline along with another Guardians of the Galaxy, the Magnificent Seven and the Real McCoy, he has enough projects to keep himself busy. Bryce Dallas Howard, 34, has signed up for the sequel and she is due to star in Disney's remake of Pete's Dragon with Robert Retford playing her father. The chemistry between these two actors was great in the movie and I'm glad that the director didn't push the romantic element.

Budget: $150million Worldwide Gross: $1.7billion (3rd Biggest Movie of All Time)

I recommend this movie to people who are into their action/adventure/sci-fi movies starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio, Irrfan Khan and Omar Sy. 8/10 Firstly, I would like to establish my credentials. I've been to all the ancient paleozoological museums and dinosaur exhibitions in my country, and I know about the difference between dinosaurs, names ending in -suchus are reptiles and mammal-like reptiles like ischigualastia and chaliminia. I also know that most of the dinosaurs including T-Rex is in the cretaceous period and not Jurassic. And most recently, the dinosaur that appeared in the first scene in Transformers 4 is a scaphonyx, and thus, herbivorous, not eating meat as shown. 1. So we need to get aside the problem of dinosaurs not looking "realistic". Well, as long as there is some rational explanation, such as "filling up the gaps of DNA", then it's OK. So not a big problem. 2. The irritating children. As a 21 year old, I find myself getting touched by the interaction between the boys. The younger one is familiar from Insidious and Iron Man 3--he's cute. I think their sibling dynamic is realistic. I've got a really young sister and I also act like Zack, jerk and rebel. 3. There is hot chemistry between the leads. I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out who Claire was--I kept on thinking Emma Stone then I realized it's the other Gwen Stacy. Chris Pratt looked like Patrick Wilson and Jensen Ackles. They would have made a hot couple. Only problem is how did Claire survive in high heels? And why did her hair suddenly turn curly. 4. The movie is very funny. From helicopter hijinks to flirting dialogue. 5. A lot of foreshadowing. We're shown the mosasaur 3 times, I'm sure there's a reason and not just for the cool factor. It's not a deux ex machina if you're aware of it. Overall, this is an unexpected summer box office hit--don't miss it. You will not be disappointed, as long as you have a sibling, loved Guardians of the Galaxy, or dinosaurs.
For much of its running time, Jurassic World plays like a great theme park ride. In an age of blockbusters that lumber like herbivores, it’s refreshing to see a movie as lean and mean as a velociraptor.
Isla Nublar now features a fully-functioning dinosaur theme resort called Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. This new park was built and is now owned by the Masrani Corporation. Owen (Chris Pratt), a member of Jurassic World's onsite staff, conducts behavioral research on the Velociraptors. In recent years, Jurassic World's attendance rates have begun to decline and a new attraction created to re-spark visitor interest gravely backfires, sparking a fight for survival for Jurassic World's employees and visitors. Jurassic World is the fourth movie in the Jurassic Park franchise, preceded by Jurassic Park (1993) (1993), The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) (1997), and Jurassic Park III (2001) (2001). The Jurassic Park premise and first two films were based on novels by Michael Crichton. Jurassic World's story is based on a screenplay by Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. Jurassic World is a direct sequel to Jurassic Park and it takes place 22 years later on Isla Nublar. No. The events of The Lost World and Jurassic Park III are still present but because they happened on a different island, Isla Sorna (aka Site B), they've been "put aside". While neither sequel is referenced in the film, their events have been referenced in the film's promotional materials and viral marketing. For example, in a feature introducing the character Vic Hoskins, it's revealed his team did work involving flying dinosaurs, referring the Pteranadons that escaped at the end of Jurassic Park III. The bones of a Spinosaurus can be seen in the main plaza of the park. T. rex is even shown to smash through them during the final fight as a way to show that the T. rex is still the king of the dinosaurs. The juvenile male T. rex killed in Jurassic Park III was on Isla Sorna (aka Site B). This film takes place back on Isla Nublar from the first film and is in fact the same female T. rex of that film. The male T. rex in Jurassic Park III is also a young, not fully-grown adult. In an inside joke for the fans, the bones that the T. rex smashes through to get to Indominus Rex during the fight are those of the Spinosaur. Henry Wu (BD Wong) is the only returning character. The main character of Owen is described in the script as having the characteristics of both Ian Malcolm and Alan Grant, the main protagonists of the previous films. The T. rex from Jurassic Park also returns, complete with scars from her fight with the raptors during the movie's ending. While scientific discoveries in the last two decades have revealed that some or many dinosaurs may have, in fact, had feathers, these discoveries were not made at the time of the first two films and therefore all the creatures in the films were portrayed with the commonly perceived design of being scaly and reptilian in appearance. This was however was touched on in Jurassic Park III, which gave some of the raptors crest feathers. In the movie, the appearance of the dinosaurs is commented upon by the genetic engineer Henry Wu, who points out that none of their dinosaurs are truly "real" dinosaurs due to the genetic meddling needed to correct their DNA, that the real creatures looked quite different and that the creatures that are in the park are what people "expect to see" when they think of dinosaurs. No, there is not. According to records and past information, there have been at least 4 scripts. The first script was written by William Monahan (it was later reworked into an almost entirely different script by John Sayles,) an untitled script that was to be used for the film in 2008, and the Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver script (which was being reworked by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly this past summer). Mark Protosevich was said to have worked on the film after 2008 and before Jaffa and Silver's involvement, but in an interview with Ain't It Cool News in 2013 Protosevich stated he never got past the discussion stage with Spielberg. The second half of the first teaser trailer features a piano cover of the original Jurassic Park theme composed by John Williams
