We have already mentioned that LEDs have many advantages over other types of grow lights such as HIDs. Here is a full list of reasons why you should choose LEDs for your next grow.

1. LED LAMPS ARE MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT

Compared to HID lamps, LEDs are much more energy efficient. They consume less electricity, and will cost you much less in the long run. Although eco farm Led Lights can sometimes be expensive to buy, the investment almost always pays off because you save more money over time than the initial cost. Likewise, quality LED fixtures will last longer than HIDs, as HIDs tend to lose performance over time and need to be replaced often. A good LED lamp can last for many years without needing to be maintained.

2. THEY WORK WITHOUT EMITTING HEAT

LEDs produce much less heat compared to HIDs, which can be a big advantage, as they won't require an additional cooling system within your grow room or tent to maintain optimum temperature. This is especially beneficial for summer crops or in warmer climates. The downside is that, if you live in a cool location, you may need to consider a heating system for the cooler months. But since LEDs save you money over time, the cost of a backup heater will pay off.

3.With LEDs, we can bring our plants closer to the lights

Since LEDs produce less heat, they stress plants less, so you can bring your lights closer to your plants without negative effects. Higher intensity means higher returns!

4. LED LAMPS DECREASE WATERING CYCLES

With less heat produced by lights, the soil in your pots will stay moist longer, thereby increasing the time needed between waterings. If you have just switched from HIDs or LEDs, and you are used to plants that consume a lot of water, now you need to pay attention to your new LED lighting cycle, otherwise you risk overwatering. .

5. THE NEED FOR NUTRIENTS IS REDUCED

When you water your cannabis plants, you normally do so with an infusion of nutrients. In addition to watering less, your plants will need even less nutrients than before. You'll save nutrients, and by watering less frequently, you'll also decrease the build-up of these nutrients, so there's less chance that the plant will refuse to take in nutrients and develop deficiencies.

LED CULTURE: WHAT TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT AT EACH STAGE OF CULTURE

As we said before, many types of LEDs have fixed light spectra that work for both the growth and flowering phase. This way, you can just use the same lamp for your entire grow cycle, from seed to harvest.

While convenient for most, some people want to fine-tune their lights to the millimeter to achieve optimum efficiency results in each phase of the grow op. For this, some professional LED lights(full spectrum led grow light) have a button to activate the spectrum of the growth or flowering light. Here are some factors to consider for each stage of the crop.

A) LED LAMPS AND PLANTULES

As soon as your seeds have germinated, your budding cannabis will need light to develop. Compared to mature plants, your seedlings will be much more sensitive to bright light. Therefore, you will need to be careful if you start a crop with powerful LEDs.

If your LEDs have an option to decrease the intensity, then decrease the intensity of your lighting. If that's not possible, consider moving your lights up high, away from the seedlings. On the other hand, make sure you don't move your lights too far, as this could cause the plant to grow long with a weak and fragile gait.

Likewise, if your LEDs have a button to switch from growing to flowering, switch them to growing, the lamp will emit a cooler, more optimal blue light at this point. Set your timer for 18 hours of light per day, and 6 hours at night.

As your seedlings get bigger, stronger, and approach the hardiest part of the growth phase, you can gradually increase the intensity of the light.

B) LED LAMPS DURING GROWTH

Set your lights to 18 hours daylight and 6 hours night time. Some growers choose 20-24 hours of light per day to maximize the growth phase.

Watch the development of your plants closely: if all goes well, they should grow in a healthy, strong, bushy way. If they grow tall looking weak, they are probably not getting enough light. Increase the intensity by lowering the lamp towards the canopy or increasing the intensity directly above it if possible.

How long your plants will grow will normally depend on the space you have available. You can technically keep a plant in 18–24 for as long as you want, but there will probably come a time when you need to switch to flowering, otherwise the plant will simply get too tall. Be aware that some strains of cannabis can expand considerably (up to double or more) during the onset of flowering. Take this fact into account when deciding to initiate flowering.

C) LED LAMPS FOR FLOWERING

Photoperiod cannabis strains begin flowering in late summer as the number of hours of daylight exposure decreases. Indoors, it is the grower who is responsible for triggering flowering by setting the light cycle to 12 hours daylight for 12 hours night time. If your LEDs have a bloom mode, it's time to turn it on.

When flowering indoors and in 12–12, it is important that the 12 hour night shift is not interrupted. Make sure your tent or greenhouse is not leaking light from outside. This could reverse flowering and cause your plant to return to the growing stage, causing other problems such as hermaphroditism.

If your led grow lights samsung have a mixer tap, now is the time to switch them to maximum intensity or lower them to the recommended distance between a flowering plant and its light source. If you are unsure of that distance, most grow light manufacturers offer guides.

Important: If you change anything to your lights, like increasing the intensity and their position, be sure to do this gradually over several days rather than all at once. Too sudden a change can stress your plants excessively.
