It's great! The puzzles start off easy, with light quirky humour to ease you in, and then the tricky puzzles come along - something to get one's claws into. The beginning puzzles might take a few minutes but it didnt take me too long to arrive at levels where Im sitting there for 20 minutes puzzling away. Some levels are a nightmare and I had to temporarily give up even on these puzzles I wasnt annoyed at the game, just annoyed at my own stupidity. Its certainly a clever type of puzzle system and enjoyable, if you like puzzles. The gentle presence of cat humour is welcome. The soundtrack is perfect and really suits the game. The main theme is catchy and the ambient gameplay music is in the same vein as SimCity, it's nice to listen to but can easily loop for a few hours without becoming annoyingly repetitive. So, this isnt a catastrophe of a game, quite the opposite. If you like intricate and well-designed puzzles I highly recommend it.. Look, this ain't no space chem, but it is a fun bit of puzzle game. Not very hard, but not too easy. I'd for sure say to play this if you like a good puzzle game, but i'd get it on sale. With no reply value i cosider $10 to be a little high for what it is. Maybe $5-$7 would have been a good value purchase. Not bad at all, but for $7(standard, not just on sale) it would have been clsoer to puurrrfect.. Good and addictive little puzzle game. Only 3 hours in but it can be frustrating at times. However, completing those puzzles feels like a major achievement. Concept is also unique, what more do you want than space cats riding trains to stop the earth falling into the sun? Definately worth a go.. I don't know what the developer was smoking when he made this game but I like it.. The Cat Machine is a great little puzzle game with cats! You have to put the cats of a certain color in the proper place the that they will go to their proper destination. A few of the puzzles were a bit difficult, but overall the challenge was pretty balanced. I would recommend for anyone who likes the genre.. The gameplay is almost equivalent to trying all possible combinations of connections, but indirectly (certainly not through the game's interface, because it's too annoying) so either in your head or through external means. The actual puzzles can almost translate to a problem on a graph, oh but you can't connect some vertices because the rails don't go like that -- and it's actually hard to see when the layout makes some things impossible, so even more trial and error. So it's a premise that's just not fun, with a whole lot of artificial difficulty.. Cute, but short. The controls aren't the best. There aren't too many puzzles. The difficulty is less a curve and more peaks and valleys, with the peaks getting pretty high. A hint system would be appreciated. I'm glad I played it, but I can't quite recommend it.. Nothing short of brilliant! A straightforward puzzle-game wrapped in a pretty package to add fun and flavour. A "must have" for people who enjoy puzzles.. The cats are cute but the puzzles are just so unsatisfying and repetitive since all the levels are based around the same idea, just on larger and larger scales. The conveyor belts are also annoying to use and provide little to no value in the puzzle itself - all that matters is which junctions connect to each other.. The theme of The Cat Machine is cute and amusing, making this a perfect game for the cat lovers who also enjoy challenging logic puzzles. The meowing is amusing at first, but if you have a cat, you might want to wear headphones or your cat might try to help you play. Approximately 2 hours playtime across 50 levels.
