Texas Ranger Jack MacKenzie (Jack King)is after a gang of smugglers working the Texas-Mexico border. The gang is also terrorizing local rancher along the border road in order to scare them away. The head of the smuggling gang is the uncle of a girl rancher who is fighting to keep the outlaws from taking over her ranch.

Why is there always so much trouble at the Mexican border, but not the Canadian border?

This was a very bad print. Poor copy. But not as bad as the movie. OMG!!! It is slow as molasses.

And the dog character is silly.

A horrible film. When you see a dog get top billing, you know that you're in for a stinker. The dog in this case named Kazan, is the best thing in this dreadful outing.

The story, such as it is, revolves around diamond smuggling across the U.S./Mexican border. A ranger, Jack McKenzie (Jack King), his bob-tailed dog Kazan and his white horse are sent to solve the smuggling mystery along with the cattle rustling that has been going on. The uncle (Philo McCullough) of a female rancher is behind the crimes.

But you've got to see veteran actor Tom London hamming it up as the bad guy Clem. His maniacal laugh is something to behold. His treatment of Kazan is a little over the top when he shoots the animal and hog ties him and leaves him for the buzzards.

The over all acting is atrocious. Jack King (who?) as the all in black hero, looks anything but the swashbuckling western hero of the day. The less said about the other cast members (except for old timer Lafe McKee) the better.
