For God so loved the world meaning: In this video clip, Christian mystic David Hoffmeister shares Jesus’ reinterpretation of the famous statement in the Gospel of John: "For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son, that those who believeth in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) In A Course In Miracles, "He gave his only Son" becomes "He gave IT TO his only Son". The meaning of this is that God didn't give His Son (like a sacrifice), but rather he gave the real world TO His Son!

This corrects the false belief in sacrifice, which underlies the ego's thought system, by replacing it with a profound understanding: God did not require a sacrifice for the separation but rather, He actually GAVE what was used to run away from Him (the world) but in purified form (the real world). Just like in the parable of the prodigal son that Jesus shared, the Father doesn't demand punishment; he only wants to give the Son Everything. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
