I'm really impressed. At first I bought this game without any expectation to see a great work, just a mere novel that could make me spend some time reading. But I really enjoyed this game, it was heartbreaking and I cried a lot at the end. I've never played a game that made me cry so much, loved the characters, art style and soundtrack. You guys did a great job and all I have to say is thank you. Thank you for all the tears that I've dropped, damn ninjas cutting onions behind me. I'm glad I could experience a great story like this during my life. Thank you. Thankyougai. Thankyoumiyon.. Cursed Sight is relatively brief as visual novels go, but manages to tell a captivating story in the few hours it has to its name. The story follows Gai, who is 10 years old, and has just been sold into slavery. He becomes the servant of a temple in East Taria, a generic Asian country, and the personal attendant of Miyon, a young girl perpetually clad in a veil. The reason for that is the titular Cursed Sight: Miyon cannot look directly at someone without causing their death. In an exchange of sorts, Miyon received the power of prophecy: through ritual, she can see the future. Anything further than those details constitutes a rather extreme spoiler, considering the brief length of the game. The game's arguably biggest flaw, such as it is, is its divisive protagonist. Gai is one of those rare children in fiction who acts his age, and as a result is kind-of a brat. Self-centered, constantly sarcastic, and hopelessly blunt, Gai makes for a narrator character with a keenly defined personality. That personality, however, can be rather offputting. Gai does develop some over the course of the novel, but his self-centered nature and sarcasm never go away. If that's going to turn you away from the story's strong points, so be it. The second biggest "flaw" is not a flaw so much as a natural consequence of how the game was designed. If you go into visual novels hoping to make a lot fo plot-altering decisions, this isn't one of those games. There are a handful of endings, all branching off from clearly designated route splits, while otherwise the player is on-rails, acting as Gai, not a generic player cipher who would be more malleable. Also, have to give points to the developer for giving the game a "timeline" feature of sorts to make it easy to jump to the branching points that do exist. A lot of visual novels would be greatly improved by such a mechanic, so seeing such a small one pull it off is encouraging. The art that exists is well-done, while the music falls squarely under the category of "effective but forgettable". The characters are relatively well developed given the limited time allotted by the game. While it may not be the most lengthy or complex experience on the visual novel market, Cursed Sight tells its story well enough and memorably enough to be worth giving a chance. Check it out.. Here's my review on this visual novel!. Well, that was a weird trip. Firstly, anyone reading this before purchasing the game needs to know that a huge theme you are going to experience throughout the story is tragedy. While I can enjoy a good tragedy, I'm not particularly happy when every route that doesn't end tragically simply ends on a half-thoughtout note. Ending 3 ends on such a weird note that it literally feels like the writer just stopped writing and called it done in the middle of the story. Ending 2 is incredibly brief and is super heavyhanded, and tries to make us feel bad for a morally obvious decision (WHY??). Even our final ending forces a tragic ending without warning, could have maybe used some dialog or forshadowing earlier to make it feel satisfying. The game deserves to have every ending except the first and last one re-written, and the final ending needs that future-jump removed (it's kinda jarring, like that chainsaw-arm line from earlier in the story).. Can anyone tell me how to find the last ending? I already finished the other three and I don't know how to get the last one. Please help.. I really was very into this game after it got warmed up a little, and I loved the interaction between Miyon, Sasa and Gai (and others) up until the first choice. Unfortunately the writing seemed misdirected, and none of the endings were satisfying to me. Ending one in particular was going in one nice direction and then seemed to nosedive without any choice on my part. Too many strange things happened to the characters that I had no choice on, and seemed strange and spontaneous. I think this game could have easily had some very satisfying endings that I would have been happy with, but without even one I sadly can't say I'd recommend this game. Some of the writing did pull me in so I hope that the team can improve and sand off their rough edges if they get the chance to make another game.. I got this game on sale and was interested because of the beautiful art and aesthetic. I was not disappointed. The story is a little cliche but with four different, very unique endings, and a seemingly well thought out story, Cursed Sight is well worth the money for the experience. I shed a few tears. okay, a lot of tears. I became invested in the characters and the twists and turns were genuinely surprising despite being someone that plays a lot of visual novels. I did finish all of the endings in a few hours (about 2-3 I think) but I felt extremely satisfied on completion. I'll definitely be checking out other games by this creator.. Great Game!. The music and the art are really good for an indie game. However, writing needs a lot more work. It felt clumsy and choice of words were weird or didn't really suit within the story. To me, it looked like the writer doesn't have much experience, or is very young. Having good beta viewers or editors for the text would have been a good idea. It looked good, but I just couldn't enjoy it, because writing and good characters are what I look for in my visual novels.
